This is Why You Need to STOP Drinking Coffee on an Empty Stomach

Do you drink coffee every morning on an empty stomach? Do you know what is really happening in your body when you do this? I know that many of us use to drink a coffee in the morning, before to take breakfast. It’s time to find out that this habit is not healthy at all and you should stop doing this.

Although is healthy to drink coffee, it’s not healthy to drink it on empty stomach.

If you make a habit of drinking coffee on an empty stomach, the amount of hydrochloric acid in the digestive tract will increase. People who suffering from gastritis, they know the unpleasant effects of acid clorhidric. Also, many other digestive problems can occur, such as vomiting, inflammation of the intestines or even can lead to colon cancer.

The main reason why you are often warned by your doctor to not drink coffee on an empty stomach right after you wake up, apart from those mentioned above, is that it will increase cortisol levels, and the body needs a long time to recover to a normal level. Cortisol is a hormone that controls the biological clock and the ability to stay awake.

So it’s better to take breakfast first and then drink a cup of coffee. If you can not drink coffee after breakfast it is recommended to add milk in the coffee, in order to diminish its negative effects. The milk will act as a gastric bandage even if it’s used in small amounts.
